What was the highlight of Spring City Hostel
STAY ELSWHERE!
It was nice to have a kitchen with refrigerator.
The location was mediocre. There was a plastic cover under the sheet that made it VERY hot to sleep in the VERY small room. The worst thing was a window that could not close (jalousie) and therefore let in LOTS of noise, light, and mosquitoes. The shared bathroom only had cold water for showers. The biggest ripoff was parking. There was only 1/2 a space for my motorcycle, but they charged me for almost the full space! I have been traveling full time for eight years in 60+ countries and I would rate this place in the bottom five of 100+ hostels that I have stayed. It has taught me to READ the reviews, even though it takes more time.

Good Wifi.
Good Wifi. Lockers in the room. Free drinking water.
The mattresses were lumpy and rock hard. It's a long way from the metro and none of the taxi drivers could find it. The electrical sockets were falling apart. The room didn't have a proper door, never mind a lock. No hot water in shower, so had to wait for them to open another bathroom and move other people's stuff. Curtains were thin and didn't help much. Late-night noise from owners and their friends right below my window. When I asked them, at 1.30am, if they could turn the music down, I was told, "It's a hostel - it's normal." It was my problem and I was told if I wasn't happy, I should go to another hostel - at 1.30am! If this was a 'party hostel' - fair enough. But it wasn't, it was a quiet place in a residential area. Extremely poor attitude from the managers, they both later came to my room, which I found pretty uncomfortable, to tell me it was basically my problem and they weren't doing anything wrong - plus, I was only paying 50,000 for the room, what did I expect?! They were both pretty argumentative, smelling of alcohol, and didn't seem to like that they'd been 'challenged'. All rather intimidating. They then emailed me, at 1.50am, saying that they'd offered me a refund but I'd declined. This was the part where I hadn't understood what they were saying, and had said so, asking that we discuss it tomorrow instead. I felt they took advantage of the fact that I am not a native Spanish speaker here. And did the refund stand the following morning? No, because I'd "chosen" to stay, and not pack everything up and find a new hostel at 2am!!! I left my backpack in the reception the next morning and was later told I should be grateful that they hadn't charged me for looking after it!! Um, hello, that's a standard hostel service! I found it all extremely unprofessional - they have a thing or two to learn about how to treat customers.

The place is situated in a residential area, a little far from Parque Lleras, it's calm but you have to run up two hills, the kitchen is small and not very comfortable, we couldn't close the door of our four bed room with a key, but there were lockers (padlock needed), the owner seems to be a helpful and friendly person but in fact he is very opportunist and tries to exploit the guests offering excursions for a low price but when you confirm the price rises up.
